When I was passing out cards today, I found that some of our residents may not be familiar with the comment system. You don’t have to use your real name or a real email address. Feel free to use a fictitious name and a fictitious email address. Just use a made up name, but after that, use @cinci.rr.com for the email address. Email address are neither collected or saved. They’re used just to prevent bulk spam from being posted.
Some good questions came in today. I’m going need to talk with people in a few different jurisdictions to answer those questions. When I have accurate information to answers your questions, I’ll post them here.

I would like more information on the process, but am interested in becoming part of Columbia Township.

Get me out of the CITY NOW!!!!
Could you please explain how the current division of City and County properties originated in this area. I have heard numerous stories as to why this area is so divided and would just like a little history.
From my stand point: We would have better 911 service from the county, better, quicker and more thourough service from county sheriffs deputies and closer response from fire and ems personell. As well is, better trash and snow removal.
Albeit, slightly higher property taxes but:
**** Simon Leis – Sheriff Simon L. Leis, Jr. was appointed Sheriff of Hamilton County, Ohio in 1987. Sheriff Leis has served the citizens of Hamilton County in one capacity or another since 1961. He served the city of Cincinnati as Assistant City Prosecutor and Assistant City Solicitor before being elected Hamilton County Prosecutor from 1971-1982. He also served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney for Southern District of Ohio for two years.
**** Tom Streicher – Colonel Thomas H. Streicher, Jr.

Just my $.02 on trash collection- I think the guys we have are pretty dern good. Even last week, when I had a hunch my can was too heavy, they still took it. They told my mother it was too heavy, but, they still took it. I will not make that mistake again. I appreciated them telling me…even though I kind of thought it already.
As for snow removal? Being the last street in the City is a pain, but, what is it, really, 5-7 days max? I can deal with that. After all, we are a secondary, if not tertiary, road. At least is slows down the people treating Palmetto Street like a drag strip! Doesn’t 25 mean 25 anymore?

Just to second that, our trash guys are awesome. They always take whatever we put out and they enjoy waving to our young boys who like to watch out the window.
